Sacha Barkman

Recently I had surgery. So my kindness story stems from there. Some days life feels lonely and sad, but somehow even a small amount of kindness really shines through! I have a few friends that are always nice to have but really shined these last few weeks. My best friend ended up coming to the hospital with a flower. The sweet smell of a Gerber Daisy right out of recovery was enough to put a smile on my face even though I was in loads of pain. Who knew such a small gesture could make a world of a difference? She stayed with me for a few hours, even helped me slip on my shoes so we could take the slowest, longest walk of my life. It really is just the smallest acts of kindness that we do each day that are really important! Because we never know how people are really feeling on that other side. Sick or not, just being there for people is the biggest kindest thing anyone can ever do.
