Products and Services

All life insurance products and services referred to on this website, including annuity contracts and variable contracts (i.e., segregated FORTRESS® investment funds), are distributed by FaithLife Financial, which currently operates as Serenia Life Financial. The organization is licensed to sell these products in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.

FORTRESS® Funds consist of 24 segregated funds maintained by FaithLife Financial, which currently operates as Serenia Life Financial, in respect of variable deferred annuity contracts issued under the FORTRESS® Funds plan. The assets of each fund are segregated from the other assets of the Society and are invested in funds managed by professional money managers. The funds are not separate legal entities.

Dividends

Members of Serenia Life Financial benefit from our financial gains. Financial returns not required to support the Society’s ongoing operations are shared with members by crediting current investment returns and by distributing dividends in accordance with the Society’s Dividend Policy. For example, participating whole life insurance policyholders have the opportunity to earn dividends every year. This is based on the following benchmarks: (1) investment returns, (2) operating expenses, and/or (3) the claims experience. In addition, our profits help us provide members with benefits that enable them to support registered charities that are important to them.
