We are very fortunate to live in a neighbourhood where neighbours look out for each other and help out. Not too long ago, an elderly man who lives alone across the street from us suffered a stroke. He has returned from the hospital, but unfortunately his physical mobility is greatly reduced and there’s a lot he can no longer do himself. But people on the street have pitched in to help with chores: every Garbage Day, someone carries his garbage cans to the curb; other neighbours cut his lawn every week and assist with groceries. As a result of the kindness of neighbours, this elderly man is able to stay in his home while he continues to get better.
