As we head into those lazy days of summer, our host offers a gentle reminder to listeners who want to spend time doing the things they love – with the people they love – over the summer months. And no, it’s not a big ask. It’s more of a life hack for those who want to emerge from the summer haze with their finances unscathed. Tune in to the final episode of Season 2 to find out what it is!

A Summer Pause

The air is getting warmer, the days are stretching out, and – I don’t know about you – but I can already feel that shift in energy. That feeling where, even in the middle of a busy work week, there’s a bit more lightness in the air and a collective desire to just… breathe.

Summer has a way of reminding us to slow down—even if just for a few moments. It’s in the longer evening walks, the slow weekend mornings, and those belly laughs that happen when we finally let ourselves step back from the pressure of the grind.

And honestly? That is exactly what we’ve been working towards all season.

Because when we talk about financial planning on this podcast, we aren’t really talking about spreadsheets or percentages. We’re talking about a sort of freedom. The freedom to do the things you love, to travel with your family, or to spend a Sunday afternoon in the garden without a nagging worry in the back of your mind.

So as we head into these lazy summer months, I want to leave you with one small, gentle reminder.

It’s easy to let the “summer haze” take over—to pause the autopay, ignore the statements, or put the planning on hold until September. But I think the kindest thing you can do for your “future self” is to make sure your foundations stay steady while you’re leaning into the slower pace of the season.

So with that in mind, why not take ten minutes this week… Just ten. Check in with your goals, glance at your accounts, and make sure everything is humming along in the background.

If you just get it over with now, that means you can be fully present when you’re winding down at the end of a long day or spending a quiet moment in the sun. No guilt. No “I’ll deal with it later.” Just time to soak up those moments of joy.

The way I see it, that is the Kinder Way.

Thank you for spending another season on the podcast with me. As we pause for the summer, I want to wish you some much-deserved lazy days in the sun. Just don’t forget to wear your sunscreen!

Stay tuned for Season 3! I’ll see you soon.
