During a season of great financial strain, it was challenging to be sure that my two young children at the time had food on the table. One day, our doorbell rang. And there stood an amazing person with bags of groceries for us. Some of the bags were full of all the “extra” treats — such as cookies and potato chips — all items I had to put back at the grocery store. The memory of this act of kindness came back to me during Covid, and inspired me to go and ring a doorbell with bags of the “extras” for a family where both husband and wife had lost their jobs. I am so grateful that our company was able to keep our employees working, as it was a delight to deliver “extras” for someone else.

We were thrilled to have representatives from @BBBSWR pop by our bike-building event on Wednesday to speak with us about the impacts of the work they do, and where the bikes would be going. (P.S. Thanks again to @KingStreetCycles for ensuring we were gifting SAFE bikes!!)

Yesterday, 30 Serenia Life advisors gathered together with 10 Head Office volunteers to participate in an Action Team for children in need via @bbbswr. They worked hard building 14 bikes to donate to kids between the ages of 9 to 14. 🚲 A HUGE thank you to @KingStreetCycles for your role as our volunteer bike tech!

A recent study has projected that close to 100,000 Canadians will be living with #dementia by 2030. On #WorldAlzheimersDay, we encourage members impacted by this disease to consider supporting @alzheimercanada via our Action Team benefit (value: $250). Apply to take action on our website!
