Our family had a huge financial loss in 2020. Work was already becoming increasingly harder to find for my husband in 2019. As a stay-at-home mom of two, I became increasingly worried. Friends of ours who saw our stress stepped up and gave us $1,000 in grocery gift cards. This is a blessing we’ve been able to pay forward time and time again since recovering from our losses. It brings me joy to know others were there for us, and we can be there for others now through volunteering our time, giving back to the food bank, as well giving gift cards to other families we’ve seen are in need but are not willing to share their struggles. The most beautiful things is to receive but also give when you least expect it, and to be seen and understood when you are struggling in silence.
