I have been fortunate to experience many acts of kindness, but will tell you a short story of when I was about 14 years old. My friend and I took a bus into the city, and there were two slightly older girls sitting behind us. Once we got off the bus, they followed us and stopped us to ask for directions. Within seconds they were threatening us. Since we were in the middle of the city, people were walking by but no one seemed to notice our situation… except a gentleman who was standing outside of his store. He yelled out to see if we were okay and told those girls to disappear. He then invited us into his shop to wait there as long as we needed or wanted. There is no telling what would have happened if he had not noticed us.

We were thrilled to have representatives from @BBBSWR pop by our bike-building event on Wednesday to speak with us about the impacts of the work they do, and where the bikes would be going. (P.S. Thanks again to @KingStreetCycles for ensuring we were gifting SAFE bikes!!)

Yesterday, 30 Serenia Life advisors gathered together with 10 Head Office volunteers to participate in an Action Team for children in need via @bbbswr. They worked hard building 14 bikes to donate to kids between the ages of 9 to 14. 🚲 A HUGE thank you to @KingStreetCycles for your role as our volunteer bike tech!

A recent study has projected that close to 100,000 Canadians will be living with #dementia by 2030. On #WorldAlzheimersDay, we encourage members impacted by this disease to consider supporting @alzheimercanada via our Action Team benefit (value: $250). Apply to take action on our website!
