Last year during my first pregnancy, I experienced difficulties during my 1st trimester. I had hyperemesis gravidarum, where I could vomit anything I ate, 10x in a row. I would stay in the rest room the whole day, just waiting for another episode of vomiting. On my most vulnerable days, being away from my husband, a friend showed kindness and compassion by being there to give comfort and empathy. Despite her busy schedule, she generously gave her gift of self by visiting me every day after her work just to make sure I was okay and comfortable. Her kind heart made a big impact on me, and inspired me to show kindness and compassion specially to those people who are vulnerable. Kindness is not always spending money, but being present and comforting. I will never forget her.
